Telethon Clinical Research Centre

The Telethon Clinical Research Centre (TCRC) specialists can assist researchers at each stage of a project with the purpose of enhancing the value and quality of child health research being conducted in Western Australia. The TCRC also fosters consumer engagement and improvements to education and training so that research can be translated into improved clinical practice and public awareness.

Director of TCRC

Heads the Telethon Clinical Research Centre (TCRC) providing strategic direction and leadership. Provides a combination of experience and knowledge in leading the clinical research environment, in compliance with the WA health service, CAHS governance and policies.

Research Facilitators

Supports child health research by providing researchers with the necessary resources, contacts and advice to plan and undertake high quality research that will improve health outcomes for children.  This assistance can be provided at any stage of project design, project review, feasibility, research facilities, ethics and site approval and the ongoing monitoring of your research project.

Research Nurse Manager
  • Manages the TCRC facility, where clinical trials are conducted within PCH. This is located on Level 1, Outpatients Department Clinic D. 
  • Assists researchers with gaining access to these research facilities including orientation, room bookings, study consumables, and clinical trials pharmacy.
  • Ensures staff are appropriately trained for clinical procedures, any staffing requirements, and authorisation of pre-RGS submission of project budget, for the use of these facilities. 
Research Receptionist

Responsible for the day to day management of the TCRC reception area. This includes booking study participants into outpatient Clinic D appointments, accepting requests for room bookings and ensuring the appointment outcomes are completed at the end of each day. 


Provide free drop-in sessions, bookable consultation sessions, and limited amount of analysis to researchers. Consultation sessions can be used for any purpose, for example to review and discuss study design or analysis plans. Consultative analysis options are also available.

Data Manager

Provide bookable consultation sessions each week where researchers can go and receive feedback relating to their case report forms, or data capture and management plans, and processes.

Business Manager

Assists with research budgets, human resource requirements, cost centre creation, and ongoing research-finance monitoring. 

Community Involvement Advocate

Provides free training, resources and information on how to involve community members in research, help identify consumers, and provides advice about how to plan and budget for involvement.

Research Education Officer

Helps organise the Research Education Program's Research Skills seminars and workshops that are open access and free for all researchers, clinicians and students.
