On 10 January, the PCH Enrolled Nurse Early Practitioner Program (EN EPP) celebrated the graduation of its ten 2018 participants.

The EN EPP is a 12 month program offered to graduate ENs and those with less than three years experience to provide a supportive transition into paediatric nursing. Whilst employed on a 12 month contract in a clinical area of Perth Children’s Hospital, the participants attend a two week paediatric theory block, study days, monthly tutorials and complete their non-IV and IV medication competencies with the support of a program coordinator.

The program was developed and implemented as a measure to recruit, support and appropriately skill the paediatric EN workforce for PCH, and 2018 was the first year that an EN program has been offered in this new format.

Congratulations to the 2018 EN Early Practitioner Program graduates on their hard work and successful completion of their program.
