Research Governance Office

The Department of Health, Research Governance Office works closely with researchers locally and nationally who require access to Department of Health personnel, data and/or tissue collections to conduct their research projects aimed at enhancing and improving future health care delivery and the long term health and well-being for all Australians.

All researchers requiring access to Department of Health personnel, data and/or tissue collections to conduct their research projects can now submit their research project via the WA Health web-based Research Governance Service (RGS).

All research projects requiring access to Department of Health personnel, data and/or tissue collections to conduct their research project must have received site authorisation before commencement. Site authorisation is based on the ethical review and approval from a Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) and a research governance review by the Department of Health, Research Governance Office.
