Use of the Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS) clinical documents by persons other than CAHS staff

CAHS clinical documents (CAHS policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines) (CAHS Clinical Documents) are only for use by the CAHS staff in the course of their duties undertaken at Perth Children's Hospital, Neonatology, Community Health and Mental Health. Any other person who relies on CAHS Clinical Documents does so entirely at their own risk.

Accordingly, to the fullest extent permitted by law, the Western Australian government and its officers and employees and CAHS and its officers and employees are released from liability (including in respect of negligence) for any loss, damage, cost and expense (regardless of whether the loss is direct, indirect or consequential) caused by use of or reliance on CAHS Clinical Documents.

Use of CAHS Clinical Documents by CAHS staff

CAHS Clinical Documents are developed by interdisciplinary healthcare teams in good faith utilising the best available evidence and resources and are believed to be accurate and current at the time of release. Whilst CAHS will make every attempt to ensure that CAHS Clinical Documents are accurate, current and reliable this cannot be guaranteed. Accordingly, users of CAHS Clinical Documents are also responsible for ensuring that they are accessing the most up to date online publication.

CAHS Clinical Documents are intended to provide general advice and guidance only upon which to base clinical decisions. They must not be solely relied on or used as a substitute for assessing the individual needs of each patient or client. Users of CAHS Clinical Documents must be fully informed of the particular circumstances of each case and must assess applicability of the CAHS Clinical Document to their clinical setting.

CAHS Clinical Documents may contain links to other websites and does not constitute endorsement of material at those sites, or any associated organisation, product or service.1 The Western Australian government and CAHS have no control over the content of material accessible on any non-Western Australian Government sites regardless of whether a link to that external website is provided on the CAHS Clinical Documents or on a Western Australian government website.
