Social media guidelines

We expect that comments and posts will be respectful and understanding of other users’ views. To ensure that all CAHS social media platforms are a place for open discussion within a safe community space, we have put some social media guidelines in place.

Any posts or comments that we consider:
  • offensive
  • discriminatory (racist, sexist, homophobic or other forms of hate speech - attacking people based on their race, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age)
  • abusive (name-calling, harassment, trolling, threatening or accusatory content/language)
  • widely upsetting to the community

will either be hidden or deleted. If the user continues to breach the above guidelines they will be blocked from the account.

Any user who maintains views that we consider outside of medical opinion (and are contradicted by evidence based research and expertise), that could pose a risk to individual and community health, will be blocked from the account.

Content that is:
  • defamatory, false or misleading
  • off topic
  • seeks endorsement or advertises businesses and causes
  • in breach of privacy and confidentiality of patients
will also be hidden or deleted.

Please ensure you also comply with WA Health’s Social Media Terms of Use and any content you share observes Facebook’s Statement of Rights and Responsibilities and Community Standards.

User comments on our social media platforms do not necessarily represent the official view of CAHS or WA Health.

You can refer to the WA Health Social Media policy.
