Who we are

The PCH Orthotics Service provides orthoses (braces/splints) to children and young adults who require treatment for a wide range of neuromusculoskeletal conditions (relating to the nerves, muscles and bones) and/or management after surgery.

Orthoses aim to:
  • offer support, correction and protection to the musculoskeletal system
  • improve mobility, function and independence.
The Orthotics Service is part of PCH’s Allied Health team.

Services we provide

Our skilled orthotists and technicians specialise in the assessment, prescription, design, manufacture, fit and review of orthoses.

We work alongside medical and nursing staff, and other allied health professionals, to ensure we provide patient-centred care using an evidence-based approach.

We provide services for inpatients at PCH, as well as outpatients who have been referred from a clinical service within the Child and Adolescent Health Service.

Our department is located on Level 4 in the Allied Health Suite, Clinic L.
