Our Aboriginal employees are important in building culturally safe healthcare that leads to improved health outcomes for children and young people. The cultural perspective influences appropriate access to care and treatment.

Employment opportunities at CAHS are advertised on the Aboriginal Services Job Board and WA Government Job Board.

Sections 50(d) and 51 of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984

To achieve equality and increase the representation of Aboriginal people in the CAHS workforce, sections 50(d) and 51 of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 will be applied to recruitment pools and targeted advertised positions.

What does this mean?

  • Section 50(d) – Aboriginality is a requirement for the job
  • Section 51 – Diversity, and specifically targeted populations. Historically disadvantaged and underrepresented groups within the workplace are encouraged to apply for these roles. This is applied to all CAHS recruitment pools and targeted advertised positions along with section 50D positions.
