Who we are

PCH’s Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Department provides planned surgical services for your child’s complex ear, nose and throat conditions. We also provide emergency services for children with low, moderate and high complexity conditions who require immediate care.

We have close links with all services in the hospital – particularly:

Conditions we manage

  • snoring, sleep apnoea 
  • ear, nose and throat infections
  • hearing loss and language delay
We also treat more complex conditions such as: 
  • airway, breathing, swallowing and voice disorders
  • head and neck masses, including thyroid and salivary gland diseases
  • complex hearing problems, including congenital malformations and single sided deafness
  • Syndromes that affect the head and neck
  • Inhaled or ingested foreign bodies
  • Infections in the neck.

Services we provide

We provide ENT services in the following areas: 
  • Airway, voice and swallowing
  • Head and neck surgery
  • Rhinology (nose and sinus)
  • Otology (ear) and skull base surgery
  • Hearing and balance  
  • Cochlear implantation and bone conducting implants.


Depending on the severity of their condition, your child may be referred for inpatient or outpatient treatment under the PCH ENT team by another medical specialty at PCH or by another hospital. Your child’s referring doctor will need to discuss their referral with the on-call ENT registrar at PCH first. 

We accept referrals for non-acute outpatients via the Central Referral Service.


The Ear, Nose and Throat outpatient services are located in Clinic B on the Ground Level.
