Audiology
Who we are
The PCH Audiology department is equipped to provide a comprehensive range of hearing and balance-related services for infants, children and adolescents from birth to 16 years of age.
We work closely with both the Ear, Nose, Throat and Otolaryngology (ENT) department, which provides surgical services for complex ear, nose and throat conditions, and the WA Newborn Hearing Screening Program to ensure infants suspected of having hearing difficulty are promptly managed.

Our experienced team of audiologists sees inpatients and outpatients for a range of services including:
- Behavioural hearing assessment
- Electrophysiological assessment of hearing and balance disorders
- Cochlear, middle ear and bone conduction implant assessment and management through the Children’s Hearing Implant Program (CHIP)
- Intraoperative support
- Ototoxic monitoring
- Early diagnosis of hearing impairment in conjunction with the WA Newborn Hearing Screening Program
- Prevention of hearing and auditory problems through education programs and research.
